Energy Voyager is a core tech, clean energy company with a portfolio of green products, supported by a unique, proprietary Web 2.0 platform. We are particularly excited about the launch of our Collaborative Business Intelligence & Open Innovation Network. We welcome very much the opportunity of working closely with you to build and refine this platform and establish it as the most valuable collaborative resource for innovators in clean energy anywhere in the world.
Threshold Question: Why Collaborate? >>
The "gold" in the New Global Energy Economy can be found in scientific and technological breakthroughs largely, although not exclusively, embodied in intellectual property at the "inter-tidal" between fields. As in the oceans this is the most fertile, the most generative zone. Energy Voyager's deep databases in bio fuels, green coal, and distributed storage, coupled to our Collaborative Open Innovation Platform is designed explicitly to help you mine the gold.
Collaborative Inventive Question: What might be some important inventions are the inter-tidal of green coal and biofuels, or distributed storage/biofuels, and so forth?
"Open Innovation" enable companies to make the best use of internal and external knowledge to launch new products and services in a timely way (See Henry Chesbrough, Open Innovation 2006). Peripheral Vision gives companies advance notice of the voice of the customer, market trends, competitor's inventions and patent filings, best alliance partners, timely sources of finance, and other essential ingredients of competitive advantage. (See George S. Day and Paul J.H.Schoemaker, Peripheral Vision, 2006) Even the U.S. Office of Intelligence appreciates the value of collaborative intelligence in its recent disclose of Intellipedia - the collaborative national intelligence network
Energy Voyager has special expertise through its International Knowledge Trust in three challenging markets of critical importance to companies interested in clean and alternative energy-China, Japan, and India. These strategic areas will be our focus.
What are the most interesting questions for our business participants regarding trends in the green coal, biofuels, and distributed storage industries in China, Japan, and India?
An important goal of collaboration is to collapse the time between discoveries and inventions and their commercial realization. How optimally to combine "technology push" and "market pull" strategies in building high performance green consortia has been the central challenge of the EPRI Collaborative Innovation Network in distributed storage. The above strategy can be significantly enhanced by systematically and collaboratively building IP Portfolios as explained here.
The next big breakthrough in addressing the destructive potential of climate change is finding ways to harness the creative energies of the consumer with the power of the market. Energy Voyager in collaboration with the Green Technology Institute is launching a collaborative project to invent a system of micro-credits where by every person around the world who is determined to do his or her part to reduce to CO2 and other harmful greenhouse gases can earn a tradable "micro-credit" which can be aggregated and cashed in within one of the major global exchanges. Our two organizations are reaching out the most imaginative and far sighted presidential candidates in the United States and other innovative politicians to work with us in practically implementing this idea this year. California, under the leadership of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, offers an excellent beta site
Some important questions: Can micro-credits be immediately implemented or is enabling "cap and trade" regulations required? Do sufficient incentives exist under existing laws and regulations or must new ones be enacted? How shall the enabling software be best developed and in what format? What is the fastest way to test and implement this idea?
“Neuroplasticity” writes, Sharon Begley, science editor of the Wall Street Journal, is the capacity of nerve cells in the brain and elsewhere in the body to respond to and grow from external stimuli and even thoughts. (See Sharon Begley, Train the Mind, Change the Brain 2006). It will be interesting to explore such questions as:
In addition to the above Energy Voyager is especially interested in the following strategic areas:
We hope to engage the most imaginative and far sighted members of the financial community to work with us in all of the above areas. There is a critical need to bring financial skills and resources to entrepreneurs and innovators so that truly important inventions rapidly reach these emerging international markets.
Build Your Own Private Innovation Network >>
An important feature is you can build your own private network and create your own mini-Collaborative Business Intelligence Network (CBIN) and Collaborative Innovation Network (COIN) directly on the site. These networks are entirely private and protected. Indeed, they can even be closed, if you desire, to Energy Voyager personnel. We are happy to work with and support your own programmers in building your proprietary CBINS and COINS using our sixty available search engines. We also have in place a shared revenue model by which together your organization and ours can generate revenues based on per seat subscriptions. Please contact our CTO, Bill Moulton, to discuss these opportunities and options.
How can these collaborative platforms be made even more useful, friendly, intuitive, for you? Our goal in the next 6 months is to work with each member to make Energy Voyager's collaborative platforms the most valuable resource on clean and alternative energy available anywhere in the world. Please send in your "dreamland version" of how creative collaboration should ideally be achieved, along with your practical critique, comments, and recommendations. Our aim is to listen deeply and to learn. We will post your thoughts so that others can co-create with us. Please send your feedback here.
