We view inventors as a national treasure. We also recognize there is a fertile upwelling of creative genius in the New Global Energy Economy, embodied in the “creative amateur” who is still largely unheralded, unsupported, and unknown. Finally, we respect that inventors have a critical legacy to convey to this and future generations about how they go about their business of inventing. As never before, especially in the domain of energy, it is vital to the national interest to record, honor, and transmit this body of knowledge and experience, so that people in all walks of life around the world can learn the path of invention. By learning the art of discovery and invention the very young will chart their life’s course, the very old can recreate themselves. Our goal is to become the essential, comprehensive resource for inventors, innovators and discoverers in the New Global Energy Economy.

I (Julian Gresser, Energy Voyager’s CEO & Chairman) have direct experience with this treasure trove of human potentiality. Many years ago I was an advisor to the National Inventive Thinking Association which was founded by two remarkable pioneers, Leonard Molotsky and Marion Canedo, both superintendents of high schools. Under a grant from the U.S. Patent Office, Project XL, the National Inventive Thinking Association offered instruction to junior and high schools to kids on how to become inventors. The program was wildly successful. These kids became so adept, I was told, that they were put on the payrolls of major corporations as their “secret weapons!” Today there are many similar initiatives. • What are the secrets of 1. Patenting your discoveries and inventions and 2. Capitalizing upon them? It is one thing to invent something. It is quite another to bring your innovation to its fullest profitable deployment.
• How can you enhance your powers of invention and discovery? Most people believe that the capacity to invent is a gift of genius: you either have this genius at birth or you don’t. This is a basic fallacy. The art of invention can be learned and the art of its deployment quickly and profitably applied.
